Distress can quickly become overwhelming and sometimes even debilitating. The following list demonstrates how to deal with distress by overcoming stressful thoughts:
Failure is a part of the learning process, it does not mean that I am a failure or worthless
Know that this too shall pass
I am not any real danger
Nobody is perfect
My feelings will not kill me
I have experience much worse than this and survived
I am stronger than i sometimes believe I am
The way that I am feeling is completely natural
I am not a bad person
This is an opportunity to challenge myself and grow
